It’s Cooking Day… Since Drew has been on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), it’s much easier to cook large batches of food and freeze them for throughout the week. I’m still working out my routine. He’s in Stage 2 and dabbing into Stage 3 of the diet. Many kids with autism have had fabulous results with this diet…we’re still awaiting those results. Despite no overwhelming improvements, at least I go to bed at night knowing that he has been fed extremely nutritious foods that are HOPEFULLY healing that Leaky Gut Syndrome of his!!Here’s what I cooked today:
organic green beans (cooked, pureed, and froze in ice cube trays)
organic pears (same)
pecan milk (which he’ll go through in about 3 days)
pear pancakes with pecan flour
pear pancakes with almond flour
I did order from the SCDbakery earlier this week. We received lemon cookies and Easter sweet bread. Their food is really good although small in quantity and a bit expensive. I’ll continue to order from them though!!
Drew woke up at 8:15 am!! His nap was from 2:10 -4:30 However, Drew has been a bit fussy today which I associate with the gloomy weather. I asked some of my Autism Mommy friends if their kids react differently in bad weather. So far, no one has noticed.
2pps ..note: We have been on new probiotic for a little over a week. PPS are usually in the very early AM and large and full in consistency. No big “D” though or “C” which is good. The SCD legal probiotic that Drew recently started is Lactobacillus Acidophilus. More about why we chose that probiotic (along with S Boulardii later).
Today is a MB-12 shot day… I’ll post more on that subject soon.
Today’s food intake: pecan bread, cranberry juice, walnut pancakes, a few pieces of apple, grape juice, chicken meatballs w/ spinach, avacado w bananas (w both fish oils), lemon cookies, pieces of freshly baked pear pancakes, mashed cauliflower. NOTE: out of S Boulardii and L-glutamine!!
